Today, I reflected on the profound impact of art and culture in shaping societal norms and values. Art, I believe, transcends boundaries—it communicates truths that words often cannot. While exploring this topic, I encountered works by Zanele Muholi and Rotimi Fani-Kayode. Their art moved me deeply, highlighting how creative expression becomes a sanctuary for marginalized voices.
I find it inspiring that queer art and cultural events like pride parades challenge the status quo. However, the persistent barriers of censorship and societal stigma remind me of the work yet to be done. Still, the resilience of artists who fight for representation fills me with hope. Art and culture, when embraced inclusively, have the power to reshape our world for the better.
